Las Crónicas de Pasadena/Pasadena Chronicles

The e-magazine Pasadena Now has been around for about a decade. For almost that whole time editor and founder James Macpherson has talked about the benefits of having information shared bilingually in the area. His father had a passion for things Mexicano and having things in Spanish seemed like something that just made sense.

Sometimes things get pushed into place quickly and sometimes things coalesce organically and slowly.

I am happy to say the that thanks to some opportune coalescing, I'll be writing a column for the e magazine Pasadena Hoy, the Spanish language version of Pasadena Now. Columns will be appearing about once a fortnight or so.
The focus of the column will be on the Latino community in greater Pasadena area. There'll be a mix of current events, historical and heritage related topics, and narratives that will be inclusive of, but not exclusive to, the Latino Community.
I am happy to share that a friend and colleague, Isabel Ramirez, will also be sharing information on events taking place in our city. She has her own blog which is providing information to Spanish language readers - civic forums, events, workshops, and the like. The two of us will be walking and writing a slightly different "beat" if you will.

I'm not sure if we are breaking new ground here - could be. In any case, I'm thrilled that the columns will be available in English and Spanish. Hopefully this will contribute to greater civic knowledge and participation. Not a bad way to start off the last month of the year.
