By Saturday I had given up. James and I agreed that we needed a sweet blast of some frigid air.
Such was not to be. Our AC is busticated. Help will be on the way later this week.
In the meantime I'm thankful for the cool mornings.
I can go outside and do a little touch-up gardening
enjoy our summer leaf changes
or just kick back and listen to the morning birds.
Your photos are lovely. I have a window air conditioner in my living room, always set at 82, so it rarely comes on. But over the last few days, with triple-digit heat, it has rumbled well into the evening. I shudder at the thought of my next PWP bill, but it will be worth it! I hope yours is repaired soon and inexpensively!
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. Most summers since we've had air, we've rarely used it. Often we'd use our whole house fan - at least at night to get rid of the hot air of the day. Boy, I can barely wait to see that luxury return. The past few days I've been working with an ice cube on my head. One of the pluses of working in a home office.
ReplyDeleteis that your backyard pergola? I want one.
ReplyDeleteWe lost power twice in my area of Highland Park. On the hottest day it went out at 2pm and didn't come back on till the wee hours. I don't have air-conditioning but sleeping without a fan? oh the misery
It is. If you would like to talk with the folks that made it, they are still in the area - but not for long.
ReplyDeleteReminds us of our basic needs, qué no?
