Altadena Easter Vigil

Well, best laid plans and all.  I'd started to write something about César Chávez and Easter yesterday, but kept getting interrupted by good things.  So, I've decided to take the week by the post by the horns and start all over again.  I'll re-title the post, re-work the text and recombine images.  Tomorrow.

In the meantime here are some images of our Easter Vigil dinner.  Or I guess, more accurately the dinner we attended.  Or, somewhere in the middle, since we brought two desserts, neither of which is in any of the photos.

Most of our Compadres have the ability to make their homes festive and elegant.

Our portion to this work, is a deep appreciation for the work done, with which we will never compete.

Hilda and Greg prepare for days before a big dinner and

the results are always stunning.

Each of us falls to our tasks right before dinner.  Hilda supervises carving, Sylvia attends to the music.

Sylvia and I always find them something to sing about before we sit down.
Hallelujah and amen!
