As the Century rolled out, a reweaving began

These three images show the transition that was taking place within the Mexican and Mexican American community at the turn of the 20th century in Pasadena.

For those born in the 19th century there was a clear division between males

and females.

But dignity and modesty were a couple of values that were expressed by stance and dress - in photographs, no matter the gender.

By the Teens, the teens were between a bit of both worlds.  

Trensas (braids) and pulled up hair was replaced with 

bangs and a bob cut.

A cultural cord was being rewoven.
