Today was filled with people. It began with preparation for a talk with Altadena Kiwanis. It took place at Villa Gardens - a great retirement community. It was originally started by the California Teachers Association.
The Kiwanis were a delightful group - lots of healthy, friendly teasing going on in the group. They had great questions. I love sharing with a group and then, sometimes when I'm lucky, going away with new things to explore. That sure was my experience with the Kiwanis.
The afternoon and evening were spent getting ready for, and then being and active member of, the Latino Heritage board meeting. We're getting ready for a strategic planning session. This picture is from a summer session and only includes our Executive Committee members, our meeting this evening was approached with a similar positive intensity.
Today the meeting took place at Madison Elementary library, instead of my house. A sense of conviviality and hard work filled the library as it filled my house when we were working together this last summer.

  1. Welcome to the blogosphere, Roberta! I'll add you to my blog list. By the way, I have a pat-on-the-back to Kiwanis on my blog today, with a historical twist.

  2. Did you happen to see Jay Blackshaw when you were at Villa Gardens? That's her place of residence now.
