I suspect this photo encapsulates my day, or, perhaps the month.
Here's the deal. For the last decade, or so, I have been focused bringing a bit of the past to the present. Yes, a lot of that past has been focused on Latino community history, but an even bigger portion has been on trying to learn about the history of our interactions with each other - as individuals, as groups, and as organizations. More than 1,001 nights (and days) of listening and weighing, of watching and thinking, wondering and writing.I choose to think of the research as being a bit of a never ending story. There is no "the end" or "this is the only way the story can be interpreted".
All very philosophical and academic.
My dining room table doesn't seem to need my scholarly attitude or efforts.
"Tonight I will finish organizing the stack that is left."
With that I will have cleared the table and will have order.
