Funny how a backyard, or any yard for that matter, can be like a young child. You care for it, you try to nurture and guide it, and then you get little surprises that make the effort worth it.
We, mostly me really, have taken to choosing plants that connect with family member names or something that they like. I find having theses plants worth a chuckle and sometimes am reminded about the family that is a part of the past or far away.
So we have Calla lilies, rocks, rosemary, monkey's paw, roses, selvia, jasmine, senecio, , jasmine, and St. Catherine's Lace. As I wander or weed I am surrounded by thoughts of my family and friends. Not too shabby...
