Took this image at Rancho La Loma on the Open Days tour. It was intriguing to see the treatment of the pole lines and the grapevines. Reminded me of the barely visible equestrian trail one sees at Hearst Castle.
Today it also reminds me of the transmission lines at Garden View in Irwindale. It is one of the largest nurseries in the area and is family owned. OUr neighbors introduced us to it and we've enjoyed the plants and the openness of the nursery.
It has "lost" it's lease - for a while - since SC Edison is putting in new transmission lines and towers related tot he Tehachapi Wind Power Project.
They are holding a huge sale, up to 70% off, on a first come, first served basis. I'll be going there today; the mild days of spring are all but gone and we've still a bit of planting to do.
