Good things can come in peculiar packages. James and I spent the day trying to figure out all the details of our upcoming vacation. Or whatever else we were calling it as we were trying to plan arrivals and departures for 7.

Having a wimpy connection to the net didn't help, nor did the fact that we're going to Mackinac Island. For those of you not with calculator in hand it will take us about 5 or 6 travel days, including part of a day on a ferry. The complications seemed grew like Topsy.

It will be wonderful to see our Oregon and Michigan familias. It will be wonderful to see all the places between here and there. It will be amazing to cross the 5 miles on the bridge to spend a day on an island where there are no mechanized vehicles, where two people in love will share their commitment to each other.

We've just some other electronic bridges to cross before we get there. Sigh.
