Chilean miners and rescuers

The 33 miners are above ground. Some speak of being reborn, some speak of the grace of God, and some speak of their love of mining. Others will write about the meaning of their experience.

I sit here thankful for their return and in awe of those who work beneath the ground in the bowels of the earth. In true awe of the rescuers who are not yet above ground and who chose to potentially sacrifice all so that the miners might breath deep again.

I am reminded that miners have been a part of the history of California; they are a part of our present. The historian in me must include this link - http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/amex/goldrush/peopleevents/p_rosales.html
