Better late, than never

We are in the cool part of the year - finally.
At the moment it is raining outside. Solidly raining; the plops and splatters of the drops are mildly percussive. The heater going on and then going off is like the grand E flat chord in Das Rheingold. I guess that makes the splatters the Rhine Maidens...or something.

The rain, the heater, and the cool of the air has me energized. Thanksgiving weekend always feels like the beginning of the year. And this year, following Catholic tradition, it is the start of Advent, which in turn is the beginning of the liturgical year.

I am getting the house ready for decorations and in very short order I will begin to bake.

So Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday aside, this weekend feels like a time of renewal.
