Christmas Chear

This Christmas Eve has been like no other. Over the past couple of decades I've come to learn that a Bedford Falls Christmas just isn't real. And that is okay. Well, sometimes more okay than others.

James and I both have ear infections. Not a good thing, but also not the worst thing in the world. But it does tend to limit one when it's been bad enough that a trip to Urgent Care was in order. Downside is James and I have been really tired. Upside is now we know why. And there is a cure for the cause.

So tonight we missed a party with some friends, and didn't have a special meal. But we did have enough energy to work together to make chocolate chip cookies. It took three of us, but cookies were made. And time was spent together.

Our Christmas recipe this year included chocolate chips, Von's brioche, and an understanding that the untrimmed tree has merit for the shared journey; the missing lights and globes really are the cherry on top.

May your end of the year holiday, be it Christmas, Kwanzaa, or any other named day, be filled with moments of love with those who matter most to you.

  4. Same to you, my friend. I will. James and my getting earaches have actually been a point of good fun. Might as well.
