On Mount Lassen

Although Kate had been to Mt. Lassen several times as a young girl, this was the first time for the rest of the family. I think we were all surprised to experience the impact of the weather - a section of the northern road had been closed due to snow, opening up on Friday night.

It was a two hour trip from where we were staying to where Kate and her family were staying. But compared to a trip to Portland, you heard no complaints from any of us in the more limited time we were able to spend together.

It didn't matter what we were doing since we were spending time with the girls who are growing more curious about things...and seemingly becoming stronger.
