10:00 PM update -http://www.cityofpasadena.net/

Wind Advisory - Dec 1, 10:00 p.m.Pasadena Water and Power crews have restored electricity to all but about 1,500 customers and are working diligently to finish the job following last night’s severe Santa Ana wind storm.

The City of Pasadena, like several other area local governments, declared a local emergency in response to storm damage and brought together an emergency operation center at city hall to coordinate the response effort.

“We are thankful that as serious as the storm was, and as much damage as it left in its wake, there was no loss of life,” said Pasadena City Manager Michael Beck. “I’m proud of the way our city team responded to what was one of the most powerful storms we’ve faced in years. The support we received from our neighboring cities and the county was critical to our efforts.”

Beck also acknowledged other local agencies and institutions, and the residents of Pasadena, for their cooperation and patience.

With the exception of continuing clean-up work, which could take several weeks, and remaining power outages, city services are returning to normal. Regular refuse pickup will resume Friday, Dec.2. Those who missed refuse pickup Thursday due to the storm will have their garbage and recycling collected on Saturday, Dec. 3.

Pasadena Public Libraries will return to regular schedule Friday, as will community centers, with the exception of Victory Park, which is closed due to downed trees. ARTS buses will also operate normally Friday. Pasadena Unified Schools, however, will remain closed Friday.

Two information phone lines have been established for the public to report fallen trees and downed power lines – (626) 564-0199 and (626) 564-0299 – and the city website at www.cityofpasadena.net is being updated as necessary.
