Some days are full

Some days are just filled with really good things to do. Yesterday was one of those days.

There was a local meeting where some community members learned about local efforts for the 2010 Census. A Pasadena Emergency Response Training (PERT), coordinated by the office of Councilmember Gordo, took place at Madison Elementary School at about the same time. Pasadena Youth Center held it's inaugural Open House at La Casita del Vecindario Madison. And the Armory Center for the Arts celebrated their 20th anniversary! Hats off to another 20 years!

At the San Gabriel Mission Dr. Jennifer Perry of Pomona College gave a talk on indigenous life on the Channel Islands. After the talk John, who is a docent at the Mission, pulled her into the exhibit space and asked questions about some of the artifacts that were in cases. I'm hoping she gets and invitation to speak locally.
