We live on a short street that has medium sized houses. The houses that were built in the 20s and 30s has a sense of space about them. There was an intentional effort to balance the size of a house and the size of the yard. A little like a painting looking its best in the right frame.

The lack of fences helped your eye glide across the front yards giving a sense of connection. Your eye could the houses for their lovely designs and the yards as part of a contiguous, flowing line of color.

Earlier last week the clouds were at just the right spot. The air was cool and the light magical.
